What adds more to convenience are the well-highlighted and ample signage directions and you’ll hardly get lost. Walking from the train station exit to the Garden gate is about a minute to two distance. From there, you will find your way to the National Orchid Garden.

When you’re in Singapore, I strongly encourage you to grab the rare chance of dwelling inside the National Orchid Garden to complete your memorable getaways and experience conventional sightseeing through deep glances and appreciation of the voluminous variety, elegance, flamboyance, fragrance & freshness of the orchid flowers.
Besides the rare opportunity of becoming a Permanent Resident (without any hurdles & difficulties on my part in contrast to others’ experience – and I call this God’s blessing), I’ve had many exceptional memories of Singapore for almost 10 years of living, working, creating business and returning frequently as tourist.
Building a sturdy and true friendship was likewise born in Singapore. Though I can only name a few of Singaporean Friends, it is a Blessed Fact, that they are indeed some of the Best I’ve ever had because of their genuine characters. They continue to uplift, support and stick with me more often in my lowest points. The great part is they continue to be in touch despite my long silence and hard days’ work.
Singapore ---- I have always built and will continue to build my home in you.
Like the famous saying which goes, “As you get older, few but true friends matter the most. You do not want to waste the remaining years of your life with the wrong people in the wrong environment”.
Back in 2001, Singapore is not as over-crowded as it is in the present times. The first time I stepped my feet in the Fine City with my late mother in February 2001 as tourists, I knew it is going to be my home for a long while. Exceptionally clean & healthy environment, friendly & helpful atmosphere, highly disciplined, well-organized and efficient systems in place are the features which are best associated in Singapore.
In the recent years, resistance to foreigners began to occur. But having viewed things constructively, I can’t blame the locals if there’s a feeling of growing hostility and conflicts in Singapore which are predominantly brought about by the rising influx of foreign investments of sorts including talents and commodities.
Foreigners (including me) should know where we stand and respect who are the real inhabitants of the native land inasmuch as we do not wish to be overpowered by outside dwellers in our own land back home. Similarly, foreigners deserve equal respect from locals encompassing various aspects and considerations. I didn’t have problems with this except for one previous employment which is another story but not worthy to elaborate.
Singapore’s Finest Jewel
Heading straight to the main purpose of this article is about the one best place I truly admired and treasured in my long stay in the Fine city.
Being a little sweet island, Singapore does not possess the many types of natural tourist attractions which bigger islands do, although it has everything you will need for basic and comfortable living. Plus, anyone can explore Singapore on their own and thanks to the efficiency of transport system and map guides.
This is why the island richly preserves its picturesque man-made attractions making it one of the most sought-after holiday destinations over the years.
Resorts World at Sentosa, Universal Studios, Sands at Marina Bay, Night Safari, Singapore Zoo, The Merlion, Esplanade, Suntec City, Botanical Garden and even the Changi Airport Terminals are among the favorite places to see in Singapore.
But there’s one that captured my heart the most and it’s what keeping Singapore lingers in blossoms.
The National Orchid Garden.
Most tourists new this place but only a handful would dwell with real interest and a few out of curiosity. It’s actually the other symbol of Singapore apart from the Lion figure. The country is popularly known as Asia’s cleanest and greenest and the National Orchid Garden is considered one of the epitomes of such well-deserved titles.
The Orchid Garden has a vast, distinctive special section in the entirety of the Botanical Garden but it’s seemingly just an external façade to a number of passersby who may not have that random fascination on orchids.
A nature-devotee that is innate in me, immersing inside the Orchid Garden is my motivating therapy amidst the daily stressful life. Once you’re inside, it’s tough and a sigh to put your feet out.
Even the aroma of orchid flowers and the cooling atmosphere inside offer an astounding relaxation to my overall senses.
Here are some personal mementos in the Orchid Garden.
