Today is my 42nd birthday and I am joyful to have launched my first blog article and this entire Travel-With-Scents site purposely on this day. What a memorable birthday gift to myself. I love God for blessing me with this opportunity and for His countless blessings.
Jitrrie Travel & Tours is named after the last syllables of my husband and mine’s first names, Jojit & Cherrie. No doubt this enterprise has a deep sentimental value to me and is the apple of my eye.
It just started early this year and blogging is what I’ve thought would be a more effective marketing for just a simple business format like mine. Anyway, the global citizenry is already on the web so why not just make my presence felt through this medium to get my message across much faster than the speed of light. Making interactions with prospects & clients more efficient and my service, more prompt and effective.
Since this is my launching article, I have a special preference for giving priority to the farthest outskirts of Manila because there are equally irresistible and incredible places out there as those that are closer to Manila. The main focus of my travel blog is to highlight the many splendid beauty of the Philippines.
(Note: I’ll be delighted to share with you all my overseas travel experiences in the next succeeding articles of my Travel Biz Blog Spot.)
I’ve learned to appreciate my country even more when I started travelling overseas. I realized I can also enjoy all travel pleasures the most in the Philippines – its bountiful and preserved natural resources, the greenery pastures, the marvelous mountains & hills, the purity and freshness of the oceans, rivers & falls, the hardworking & obedient farm animals and exotic inhabitants (both in land and in sea), the sincerity, warmth & cordiality of the rural folks, among many others.
One of which I would like to promote first is Dakak Park & Beach Resort. Situated on the tip of Northern Zamboanga (south of the Philippines), it faces the Sulu Sea in the west and surrounded by mountains on the east side. Because it is encircled by a large island, Dakak is well-protected from typhoon belt making it a perfect all-season destination.
The resort boasts 15 hectares of wooded land, a natural reservoir for native plants and animals, a 750-meter private powdery white-sand beach and cited as the “Diving Mecca in Mindanao” with vast presence of coral reefs. Aqua sports, boating bowling, billiards, golfing and horse riding are some of the recreations.
The resort won an award for being one of the best hotels & resorts in the early 1990s awarded not only by the Philippine agencies but also by an international award-giving body. Likewise, it was given a Certificate of Excellence by the Prestigious Resorts of the World in 1992 and was hailed as the pioneer First Class resort in Mindanao.
Unfortunately during that time, digital cameras are not always available, ordinary cameras are not too high tech as compared today, camera features of mobile phones are not recommended for good shots and considering that my trips are mostly official than pleasure, I had no physical photographic memories of the stunning resort. I remember having only one shot at the reception area courtesy of one hotel staff and she passed it to me as a souvenir on the day I checked-out. But I was too careless to keep it for the many years that passed. If only I knew I would need it one day, I could have been responsible enough to save it.
What I remembered best about Dakak is that its rooms are purposely designed in native style bungalow cottages with marble tiled bathrooms and capiz shell window panes to harmonize with its natural surroundings. There’s a beautiful contemplative chapel on top of the hill, swimming pools of various designs are available in the different areas of the resort, hilly & huge parks for you to jog, stroll, skate or bike around as a group and it’s such a safe place to even walk alone in meditation, a cozy & spacious restaurant located outside where you can enjoy the great varieties of popular local dishes & authentically fresh seafood in the midst of an oozing nature and heavenly landscapes, state-of-the-art facilities, furniture sets are simply elegant (showcasing the rich natural resources of the Philippines), the ambiance is just “simply extraordinary”.
Every bungalow has its own veranda facing Dakak Bay. But I recall being housed in a beachfront bungalow and you can imagine how it’s like to wake up in the morning, come out from your room and simply gaze straight at the serenity of the ocean’s marvelous view --- a one very lucky me. But by the way, I was never a fan of swimming but only an admirer of oceans. All nature lovers do. So it was just an overnight, 2-day stay but it felt like eternity for me. How would you feel being “at home” in paradise? What a GREAT PARADISE. The resort was brilliantly developed.
Here is a flyer I recently posted on the Facebook page of Jitrrie Travel & Tours. It’s about promoting our package tour to Dakak Park & Beach Resort. As we embrace the month of June, I made a customized honeymoon package tour for newly-wed couples and there is no great way but to spend it in Dakak. The package is also available for other groups - families, buddies and companies. Do check-out the various package inclusions on the flyer and you will appreciate how the price came about. It’s certainly worth going that extra mile.
The sure fastest way to get to Dapitan City from Manila or Cebu is by plane via Dipolog City. Dapitan City to Dipolog City is about 14 kilometers in distance. The generous thing about Dakak is that it provides complimentary airport pick-up from Dipolog City and take you to a 30-minute drive to the resort. And yes, I mentioned that on my flyer - - - a modestly exciting perk.
Our flag carrier, Philippine Airlines and the fastest growing airline, Cebu Pacific dominate the daily flights to Dipolog City. Approximate travel time from Manila is 80 minutes while from Cebu is 45 minutes.
How does offering you my personally-attended travel services sounds like? It’s time to reach me now and allow me to help you plan and book your smooth and memorable travel to Dakak in advance. I’m also happy to give you advice (in my best capacity) if you wish to know more relevant information.
